INGREDIENTS:
- 1 lb ground (game) meat
- 1 Tbsp cooking oil
- 1 med yellow onion
- 1 Tbsp ground cumin
- 1 Tbsp chili powder (or more to taste)
- 2 10 oz cans of Rotel diced tomatoes with green chiles (either mild or original)
- 2 10 oz cans Chili Beans in mild chile sauce
- 1 16 oz can refried beans
- 1 4 oz can of green chiles (opt)
DIRECTIONS:
Place skillet over med heat & add the oil.
Once oil is shimmering, add the onions and saute until translucent & soft.
Add ground meat and brown evenly. Try to stir as little as possible to have finished meat in larger chunks.
Once the meat is browned, sprinkle cumin & chili powder over meat, stir thoroughly and cook for an additional 2 min.
Remove from heat.
In a 5 qt slow cooker add the seasoned meat mixture & all of the undrained canned ingredients.
Set the temp to low and stir everything together.
Place the lid on the slow cooker & let cook for 4 hrs.
