INGREDIENTS:
- 1 med head of Red Cabbage
- 2 tsp bacon fat or butter
- 2 Tbsp finely cut onion
- 1 apple, peeled & sliced
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1/4 up water
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 2 Tbsp flour
- pepper to taste
DIRECTIONS:
- Remove outside leaves of cabbage.
- Shred or cut cabbage fine.
- Parboil cabbage about 10 min.
- Saute onion in fat.
- Add cabbage, apple & water. Cover.
- Simmer 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
- Combine flour, sugar & vinegar. Add to cooked cabbage.
- Add seasonings.
