

{"id":2273,"date":"2015-04-04T18:33:10","date_gmt":"2015-04-04T18:33:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/maggfarm.com\/?page_id=2273"},"modified":"2015-06-04T13:58:24","modified_gmt":"2015-06-04T13:58:24","slug":"barley-lentil-mushroom-soup","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/maggfarm.com\/?page_id=2273","title":{"rendered":"Barley, Lentil &#038; Mushroom Soup"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"print-this-button-shell\">\n<button type=\"button\" class=\"print-this-button\" onClick=\"parent.location='http:\/\/maggfarm.com\/?page_id=2273&printthis=1&printsect=1'\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<img src=\"http:\/\/maggfarm.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/wordpress-print-this-section\/images\/print2.gif\" \/> &nbsp; Print This!&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/button>\n<\/div>\n<!-- Print This Section 1 Start -->\n<div class=\"print-this-content\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1\/4 cup olive oil<\/li>\n<li>1 med onion<\/li>\n<li>1 stalk celery, chopped<\/li>\n<li>2 carrots, chopped<\/li>\n<li>3\/4 cup pearl barley<\/li>\n<li>3\/4 cup dry brown lentils<\/li>\n<li>1\/3 cup dried porcini mushrooms, rinsed<\/li>\n<li>2 qt low-sodium beef broth<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 tsp dried thyme<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp dried parsley<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper<\/li>\n<li>1 bay leaf<\/li>\n<li>4 cups (? seems like alot, but thats what the orig recipe calls for) sliced button mushrooms<\/li>\n<li>1 Tbsp dry sherry (opt)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion; cook &amp; stir until onions are limp but not brown, about 5 min.<\/p>\n<p>2. Mix in the celery &amp; carrot; cook for another 5 min.<\/p>\n<p>3. Stir in the barley &amp; lentils so they are coated with oil, continue to cook and stir until lightly toasted.<\/p>\n<p>4. Pour in the beef broth and season with thyme, parsley, pepper &amp; the bay leaf.<\/p>\n<p>5. Bring to a boil. Add the porcini mushrooms, cover and simmer for 25 min over low heat.<\/p>\n<p>6. Add the button mushroom, cover and continue to cook another 30 min, stirring occasionally.<\/p>\n<p>7.
